Go Within -A story told by my father

Once upon a time there lived a woodcutter who was very poor and he did not get enough money to fulfill his needs as he  wanted  more from life.So  he went to  meet a Sadhu Maharaj .Once he went and described his agony to the Sadhu Maharaj.Hearing this Sadhu Maharaj said "Go within".So immediately  without understand  the actual meaning  the woodcutter went inside the jungle and found out bronze mine.  After digging the mine he became rich .

Slowly after becoming rich he wanted become richer and richer and wanted to coqure things in life.So then he again went to the  Sadhu Maharaj and asked for guidance.The Sadhu again repiled and said "Go within".Then he went further inside the jungle by supressing the bronze mine.He found a silver mine.After diging that mine he became richer.But as his greed increased he wanted to the richest wood cutteri n the entire world So then again he decides to meet the Sadhu Maharaj to  thank him and to  ask him for more information .The Sadhu Maraj gave him the same reply.The wood cuter went further inside by surpassing the silver mine .He found a gold mine there and he become the rightest wood cutter. As days and months passed by he wanted some more.... So he decided to see the Sadhu Maharaj and ask him about the other mines in the forest. The wood cutter went to Sadhu Maharaj again and he asked him if he knows anything about the other mines. But the Sadhu Maharaj replied to him by repeating the same words" Go Within". 

The wood cutter ran further inside the jungle by surpassing the bronze, silver and gold mines. He found out a diamond mine. Once again after digging the mine he become the most powerful man. After a few years a thought crossed his mind that If the Sadhu Maharaj already knew about these mines then why he did not go inside and dug for himself to become rich .In order to appease the mind he went to Sadhu Maharaj again and asked him "Sadhu Maharaj if you already knew about these mines then why you did not go in search of these mines and dig it for yourself to become rich. What is the secret of your blissful state"? .

Then Sadhu Maharaj said the same  words again "Go Within" by pointing his finger in the direction of wood cutter heart .Finally the wood cutter understand and left the place by contemplation on his words.

#Love is the most essential element in #bhakti. There are other factors also – trust and faith. If there is no faith in God, then your love cannot take you higher. In difficulty, 
we pray to God, but even as we pray, we have doubts whether God really exists or not, whether He listens to our prayers or not, whether He is capable of removing our sorrows, etc. In worldly life also, if you love someone, but don’t trust that person, there will always be a problem. There are some whom we trust, but have no love for them. Both love and trust are required in bhakti.

The next ingredient is reverence. There should be love, trust and reverence, and all three unconditionally. Only then it can be called devotion. When Meerabai was given poison, she knew about it, yet she could drink it in complete surrender to God. Our devotion must grow to that level.

When you ask for something from God He always gives, but He may give in three ways. Sometimes, if it good for you, He may grant your wish immediately. At other times He may seem to refuse your wish by not giving what you desire, but actually gives something better. Sometimes he delays His grant, but compensates by giving the best. So we must learn to wait patiently. In our shortsightedness, with our strong desires, we often fail to understand the ways of the Lord.

Grateful-A Heart Rendering Story.

Once while Pam was sitting in a hotel having lunch , a distinguished looking man but dressed in shabby and tattered clothes ,entered the hotel ,ordered his lunch and after eating it , calmly walked away without making any attempt to pay the bill.The waiter looking at his personality , was reluctant to stop him and ask money .

He reported this to owner of the hotel ,a middle aged widow.She had seen the man come in and walk out. Looking at his face she thought , he looks like a upright and honest man..Therefore  she told the waiter not to bother him. Pam was surprised by to see this so she approached and asked her for a reason  for such a kind of behavior. Did you want reply did Pam get.

This man reminded me of another man like him who did the same thing years ago. Every day for a  month this man used come in  , had his lunch and then  walk out .Then suddenly one day he stopped coming to this hotel. Pam kept wondering as to what might have been the reason  behind for this man to stop coming to this hotel , but she had no way of finding  out .

"One year later Pam receives  a  legal notice  from Mr. Shank and his will .Pam thought and thought again, but she could not recall  any relation by this name. Pam felt that courier walla might had made a mistake and tried to reach him out by calling him back..But no her name and address was correct.Now Pam went to hear the will out of curiosity , imagine Pam surprise when  she heard  the lawyer read , I leave Rs.5000/= to the kind lady who allowed me free lunch for the entire month and saved my life at the time  when I did not have a single naya paisa  in my pocket.I would like to  thank her for the kind consideration and faith in my honesty. Today I have the money  and power. I would love to show my gratitude towards the lady  who had a golden heart to let me  have meals for free then."

Hearing the will Pam 's eyes misted as she hadn't seen such a kind of person like Mr.Shank who has shown his gratefulness towards the lady who had allowed  him to  have free meals in  that hotel which the lady ran in today's times.She felt so happy and relieved for she had considered Mr.Shank as a 'looter' then.With these happy thoughts Pam slept peaceful for the first time in the entire 25 years of her life.
